Repair instruction for refitting
Electronic parking brake Urgent Notice
Thank you for relying on us to repair your module
Refitting of your repaired module requires attention to your other braking components
90% of failures are caused by worn brake components putting strain on the module until it can’t operate any longer or burns out
We get a large amount of inquiries concerning refitting back on to the vehicle without any attention to the brake shoes and drums
The parking brake module can only operate if all wear and play is removed from the brakes because the cables only have a certain amount of available movement and beyond that it locks up and will need to be removed again to release it
All the manufacturers state that the shoes and drums should be replaced after the module is renewed for this purpose
If on a tight budget the shoes need to be adjusted so you have as little play as possible care should be taken to remove the lip on the brake drum as to achieve the tightest fit whilst still having free movement of the wheels
The cables have a maximum movement of about 6cm which is 3cm per side beyond this the unit will lock up and the motor wont have enough power to release itself
We can not be responsible for the failure to follow this advice
This must be followed before powering the module for the first time
Turn adjusting screw with a screwdriver until it is no longer possible to turn the wheel.
Then unfasten the adjusting screw 10 notches
Recheck after any bedding in procedure or test-drive to get maximum life out of all components

Returning module
We try our up most to fix every module that we receive but sometimes an epb can have faults beyond repair or can’t be fixed due to experimental tampering before we receive it. We will gladly look at any module again you suspect of not being repaired correctly but in turn every precaution should be taken when refitting these modules and a good understanding of its operation is required otherwise we can’t be held responsible when something has gone wrong.
